Default AC recharge port on 96 A6.

Need to recharge AC on my 96 A6, but can't find the charging port on the low side ;(. Anyone knows the location?

it does not have one, 95 or 96 and up = high side only

Evacuate and recharge....through the high side.

Can it be done? I thought you can only charge through the low side. Anyway, I will try it and see how it goes.

Btw: Does anyone know if OBDII sets a code for low freon. Guess I must check it before recharging.

Default I have argued against doing this in the past, and I still think it is a bad idea.

It's not that expensive to have it done with the correct equipment. Without the right machine, you cannot meter the amount of charge accurately and you risk serious injury.

Default note my instructions call out Vac pump, charging scale, refrigerant gauges.

of course the knowledge to use the equipment is necessary too. I personally find changing out an intank fuel pump to be much more dangerous.
