Air Bag Light

I stupidly disconnected the little orange connector behind the glove box, thinking it controlled some servo steering or something, now the air bag light stays on. I am hoping I just need to reset the light (VAG tool?), but does anyone know for sure?
Also, I replaced my sticky ignition switch last night. $30 and 30 minutes worth of work, and man, does it work nice now!
Thanks.

twice, i did the key thing and had the dash apart. each time i unplugged the orange thing so i wouldn't get whumped in the face by the bag.
for a little while, i even drove it with the orange thing unconnected and the air bag light was lit.
each time i plugged it in, the light neveer showed again.
mine is a 92 100 CS. did the process change on other cars?
