erase. My fiance brought it to a friend of a friend at Audi and he said that the code wont clear and he thinks the module is bad. I didnt speak to him personally but is it possible he did something wrong? the light never came on until I tried to start it with a dead battery, could that have ruined the module? Is it easy to replace if need be? thanks

The ECU probably set a checksum error due to the low voltage some of the control units won't let this fault be cleared .

you can't erase a code that's being caused by an active fault, every time you turn the key on in the ignition the SRS system does a self test....light is on for a sec or two because it tests the light bulb itself(among airbags, module, crash sensors, active seatbelts, etc.)
If all checks out well, light goes out.
If a fault is determined, light stays on.....like in your case.
You should have a code stored though, find out what that is and we'll take it from there.
Good luck.

do dissarm the SRS and that includes discharging the capacitors...below 93 i believe it's half an hour(20 min i think but be safe, go the extra 10)
