Default Airbag light goes on, is there a way to check without VAG-COM?

I want to scan the airbag system to see why the trouble light blinks upon start-up and then remains lit while driving... Could it be the coil in the steering wheel? (I had this happen in my Volvo)...

Any help would be appreciated.

Default No, unless you have the VAG-1551/1552 tool. You can try to re-set the air bag by...

buying a SRI/Airbag reset tool for $199 at:

http://www.obdscantools.com.

Default Humm, got the codes scanned by my mech today...

And the driver's side bag shows high resistance. He reset light and so far it didnt come back yet. Anyone know what could cause this light? Do I need a new bag, did a coil wear out, or is there just a loose contact?

thanks!
