Default Alternator upgrade options available

Avi Meron of ultranator.com has been able to rebuild the Bosch alternators for our cars in two stages. 160 amp for $205 and a 200 amp model for $250. I ordered the 160 amp upgrade since i have my second one doing my stereo but if anyone is interested i thought i would let you know. I thought id try it since a new one would cost me $500. I ll let you know how it works out

So, if the 200amp upgrade requires new brushes every year then when does the 160amp upgrade need/or is suggested of replacement brushes.

The 200's brushes are fine, its the voltage regulator you have to worry about. As for the 160 he said that this upgrade is more for everyday use, there is no strain on components and you should get normal life out of it. Now he said that the 200 will be short lived (2 or so years) and the voltage regulator for 1 year, ifyou are constantly pulling 200 all the time. I would say tho that the 160 is a safe bet.

Default Independent charging system for stereo

I have been competing for a long time in the car stereo area. Life was so much easier when i made a complete independent charging system for it. Battery, alternator, and wiring leave the actual charging system alone and keeps stress off. Also in competition dimming lights can be detremental to your score. This was the best way to have it done, and it was very practicle since i had the room up front. Other great features: I can jump start myself and run accessories without the fear of battery drainage. total cost was only 200 dollars.
