Default Any help would be appreciated. 100S 92 running hot.... Read.

The car is runnng hot. Itis posting two bars to the right of the middle of the norm on the coolant gauge. I had the car taken apart and put a new timing belt in and new water pump and thermostat. I figúred that the car was running hot because I was starting to experience a failing water pump and it was time to replace it. THe last thing I need is for a water pump to sieze up and blow the timing belt and tare up the motor. After all the work has been done it is still running hot. ????? Why???? My thought are it could be the bleeding of the radiator. But i let it cycle and there is no more air in the radiator. Is there a bleeder valve on the radiator to make sure all the air is out? My second thought is radiator fan switch. I believe but not sure there is a low and high speed switch. If so where is the switch located and when does it turn on? It turns on when the A/C compressor is turn on. But only goes on when the coolant temp guage is alreadz too high. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!!!! Thanks Fred

You're on the right track. Someone with a Bentley manual will clue you in where the radiator fan switches are located and how to test them.

Did you say that the fan is not turning on when the A/C goes on, unless the temp is high. I believe that the radiator fan should always go on when the A/C is turned on, but I don't know about 100's.

Good luck and watch that temp guage. You don't want it to overheat.

Are you sure the thermostat is the correct one? Is it in backwards?

Default There are two vents in the cooling system. Go to second page of this forum, 1/3 from top.

Default I bleed the coolant the hard way. Heating up the engine then shutting off procedure. I wish i ...

knew where the bleeder valve was and it would have saved me alot of time. Thank though. I would have never thought that the bleeder valve would be located by the fire wall? Thanks scott

So therefore the bleeder valve is located by the EGR valve. EUREKA!!!
