The lights next to the gear shift **** in my A6 98 wagon are out.

Any know how many bulbs/ what bulbs and how do you gain access to change...

Anyone tried removing the wood trim surrounding the gear shift ****...

The wood trim pries up from the inside rear edge of the wood. Use the wided blade of something like a wood chisel or plastic wedge, etc. If you put a "point load" on it, like a narrow screw driver, it's going to flex and break.

Takes one peanut bulb, you'll see once it's apart.

I managed to get it out now have to look for the bulb it says OS 12/1,2 w7g on it. thnks

Take a drive to your local auto parts store and buy the bulb.
