What could cause my Audi to blow a little blue smoke (oil) under hard acceleration? I noticed today in my garage I had my friend rev the engine 1/2 throttle to 3000 rpm and it blew smoke every time. Under light throttle it doesn't do it, and around town I don't notice if it blows oil or not, but I assume it is doing it evertime I hit the gas.
How can I fix this, I like my car and I don't want to have to put a new engine in it.

Well it usually works like this:
Oil smoke under hard accelleration is oil coming up past the rings.
Smoking while coasting with little to no throttle would be oil being sucked past the valve stem seals due to the high vacuum condition in the intake.
It is hard to daignose without a compression test and or a leakdown test.
At your next oil change, change oil manufacturers. I have seen this help somewhat with oil comsumption. How much oil does it use in 1000 miles?

I will be changing the oil next weekend, should I use an additive? Smoke-B-gone? Ring conditioner? I might switch to Pennzoil 20w50 also. Any suggestions?
