My outside temperature gauge backlight finally decided to stop working so I printed out your excellent proceedure and plan to perform the fix this coming weekend. Just wondering if you have the radio shack part number for that replacement bulb. Also, is it easier if I'm just doing the temperature bulb? My shift indicators are still OK....
Thanks,

I think it does not make difference, if you change one bulb or both.
BTW, can you compare A6W and 525 Wagon. Thanks.

I did my selector and temp bulbs last week..(works like new), I would just print out Beep-Beep's instruction guide (he has the bulb info in it) and bring it in to radio shack..thats what I did, and the guy gave me the bulbs..3 bulbs and the cost was 4.35....pretty cheap, and it took about 2 hrs...I would stronghly recommend using a "pen size" soldering gun...reg. size gun may be too big...Cause the bulbs are VERY small...good luck..

But they are very different animals!
Are the bulbs just white? So they are actually bulbs and not LED's correct?
Thanks again,

It is easy, cuz there is enough space to assure that you do not drill too deep. I used a Dewalt cordless, w/ a small bit(go slow)...drill bit was a tad bigger than the bulb...as beep beep quotes in the info guide..the soldering is a little tricky...taking the dash apart takes about 10 min...and the rest of the time is soldering those little bulbs...One more tip..clean your finger prints off the displays before putting them back in the dash...
