I has 225/50/16 on them they held for a while but im seeing signs of what might be rubbing on the front two from the suspension.. its been about 20k miles and they were fine but i lowered it about 5k ago.. do you think that would effect it? Should i drop down to 215?

car is going to put the body closer to the tires. Aren't you supposed to stiffen the springs and shocks when you lower the car to make sure the tires don't rub? Did you do that?
I think you can get a smaller diameter tire but your ride will get harsher.
But again, I really don't know jack about this stuff.

i have clearance in the wheel well but how close are you to the suspension arm in the front.. it was no closer or farther since before lowering..
i use the standard 16 inch A6 wheels for the 96.. but my car is a 1995 did they change something for 96?

I am running Goodyear RSA 205/55R16 on the '97A6qw 16" 5-spoke rim and do not see room for anything larger. My little finger can not fit between the steering knuckle and the tire. i.e. less than a quarter inch of space.
What are you running and do you have and pictures?
Russ
97 A6qw
99 A6q
Because two Audis are better than one.
