is are the transmission and engine mounting points the same for a quattro chassis regardless of whether the car has an auto box or a five speed std. trans?

Some manufacturers have different size trans humps, etc. but I have no clue whether Audi does this or not. (My 93 S4 has a five speed and I looking at buying an C4 A6 avant and swapping engines and transmissions, etc. - At least in my dreams).

the motor and transmission mounts are different, but they can be taken from the donor car. A6 and S6 shared transmissions all down the line.

is the gearing for the differentials the same?

ie, if i have an auto and want to swap in the manual setup, do i have to change the rear diff as well?

Per my Bentley, the manual rear diff has different gear ratio than the rear diff for an automatic.

automatics get the 4.11:1 final drive (aat code,same as s-car) and the manual gets the 3.89:1 (same as 200q) BTDT
