Default CEL Code:P0116 coolant temp. sensor. I changed the sensor but..

Hi everyone,

I changed the sensor and reset the light. but the CEL came back on. I checked with a scanner and it is still the same code: P0116. Is there something else I should diagnose? anyone else run into this problem?

Default You may have a thermostat that is stuck open...

I was receiving this code because the thermostat was stuck open, causing the car to take a long time to warm up.

There are 2 sensors, one in the left rear water pipe and one in the right rear water pipe

Default If your DTC is for the G62 sensor, that is located on the left rear side of the coolant pipe...

As austinado16 states, there are two sensors: G62 and F76. The G62 sends signals to the ECM; the F76 thermal switch sends signals to the temp gauge, the high temp warning, and the climate control unit. Without my Bentley in front of me, the DTC is probably the G62 sensor fault, which trips the CEL. Which sensor did you change?
