Check engine light on. no 'woosh' from gas tank
I have a 97 Avant. The check engine light just came on. I don't hear the familiar "woosh" of pressure when I remove the gas cap. The car was to the dealer's for emmissions inspections and its 100K tune up. Maybe cooincidence, maybe not. I'm betting that the fault is a pressure leak in the fuel system. Did a hose rupture or come off? Where should I start looking?
Thanks

could the gas cap just have been loose?>
I know on a BMW I owned, if I got gas while the engine was running, the CE light would come on, due to gas cap being open with engine on.
Basically what you might be experiencing.

Could be related but....
I've replaced 3 sensors in the last 2 years and the light (amber) still goes on and off. If it stays on for awhile, go to the place you get your oil changed; they usually can check and reset the fault (plug in center console). If the light comes back on and stays you'll need to see a mechanic. If you can't tell a change in performance, more times than not, it's a bad sensor = $120.
