Default climate control orange blob

On my 92 100CS, the orange plasma display has cancer. There is a blob of orange in the lower left. Also, the rest of the display has line in it, depending on which numbers are displayed. Temp 71 and fairly low fan speed seems to be the most readible display. Anything else looks greek. Heat, fan and other stuff work ok, just very hard to tell what setting it is at. I generally go to 71 and count up or down to get desired temp.

Other than buying a very expensive replacement ($400 +), is there any fix for this. (Other than living with it?). Any electronic guys out there who can offer ideas?

Jim

Default Re: climate control orange blob

I had the same situation w/ my odometer display about a month ago. The display was getting full of bright orange spots. I decided to live with it and since then each day it seems to be getting better! This morning I noticed only one spot...I live in MN and the cold weather from a while back may have had something to do with it...I would wait a bit, and see if it corects itself before buying a new one...Good kuck!!
