Clonking noise on hard accelerating !

Clonking noise on hard accelerating !

My car has always made a CLONKING noise since i bought it(Like metal on metal noise) from the front when i accelerate hard from standstill.I never really worried about it because if i drive decently this does not happen.After jacking the car up i did notice the control arm mountings very worn.Could this possibly be the cause ?

Does it make the same noise under hard braking?

havnt had to break hard yet ,so havnt heard the noise.will try breaking hard and hear if the noise is there.

Mine did the same thing for a whle and drove me crazy trying to figure out what it was. Look for a broken exhaust hanger for the center resonator. Exhaust was hitting the sub frame crossmember. The metal to metal clunk noise.
