Dash Display "OIL" in tripmeter

Anyone know how to re-program the dash dislpay that says "oil" in place of the trip mileage on startup???

It's a 95 A6Q.

I believe you need a scan tool for your car.

You need a VAG tool... VAG-COM will work.

In Scotland...

Mine says "ln.2" on start-up. Do you guys get this display? Is a "VAG-COM" the same as a "scan tool" and how and where do they connect into the car? I normally ignore the flashing reminder but really would love to be able to get rid of it but don't know how...
