Default Disabling Autocheck headlamp out feature

Does anyone know how to disable the headlight out indicator in the Autocheck system. I installed hella hids in my 95 a6 avant and the resistors that came with them do not work to disable the system. Is there a relay or anything else that I can do to just disable that feature? Thanks for any help!

There one 2 ways, first is a big long and confusing but you would still have your autocheck system on however not when HID's are on. Second one is easy, its a wire that needs to be sliced inside the cluster instrument. Not exactly sure which one neither as I never really got a chance to do it. However, slicing it, you will completely look your whole BULB OUT check, all around, kinda scary as you might not know if your rear ones are out or not. I simply got used to mine already popping, doesn't bother me, just put music on and the problem is solved.

Not sure that I fully understand ur reply. I want the Autocheck to still work but the only feature that I don't want to work is the bulb out feature. Thanks

I understood what you said thats why I went by your definition of calling it "Autocheck" but I guess you go confused your self. Yeah, I meant "bulb out". When getting rid of the wire, you will still have the autocheck but will lose the rest of bulb out such as headlights, tail lights, break lights.

Thank you. Does anyone know what wire to cut?
