drat that pesky CEL for insuff EGR flow

Hmmm... I'm inspired
I want to give the throttle body, intake manifold, etc. a good cleaning. The Bentley states that if I remove the IM, then I have to tighten the head bolts 90* (due to possible warpage of the heads). Is this necessary or can I just slap on new gaskets and button it up?

Re: re-use the gasket?
I know times are tough, but 're-use the gasket to do this job properly'? Thanks but I'll not take that advice. No offense, but that logic just doesn't work for me.

Yeah well, let's look at the logic then....
The gasket is bonded to the intake manifold like there's no tomorrow, and if you've ever used Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket, you'd know what it's capable of.
Guess what; I even reused my EGR Gasket (3 times now) and still no leaks.....NAPA's (Walker Products) exhaust paste to the rescue.
It comes down to knowing what your skills, your tools, and your products are capable of doing.
I don't give advice that doesn't work, and I don't give advice that I don't use myself.

Re:logic
Well, I guess that's the difference. I don't re-use gaskets(because they're not meant to be used twice), and you do. I do it the right way, you do it the way that works for you. I don't think it's responsible to give advice to re-use gaskets, and if I paid someone to work on my car and later found out that they just added sealant instead of doing the job right the first time, I'd raise a ****-storm. If people take your advice and it works for them, great! I suppose it all comes down to standards. Now that we both agree to disagree, we can move on.
