I cant open or close the rear windows from the driver control panel.The windows open & close from the rear door switch ok.Where do i start to trace the problem.

I would say that the switches on the drivers door for the rear windows need to be replaced. I had the same problem and replaced 3 of the window switches and the rear safety switch on my 92 100 last year. After 10 years you have to replace a few things.

I have a similar issue. My issue is that I can control all windows from the driverside master switch console. However, no one else is able to control their windows. Its as if the windows are stuck on lock?? Ive replaced the master switch control console without luck. Please help!

Try replacing the individual door switches if you have already replaced the rear safety switch. That would be the rectangular switch on the drivers door in the middle of the other window switches.

had the same problem, couldnt open window from driver's seat, but would open from rear right.

get them from any older audi, 100, 80/90, blah. if it looks the same, you can swap it. I took a whole bunch from a salvage car, and half of them worked and lit up too..

Well I replaced the control unit after I located a guy on ebay who supplied it to me for >100 clams. It fixed my sunroof and all the power windows~
