Twice now my '92 100CS Q has gone completely dead immediately after inserting the key in the ignition. Even the interior lights don't work. Jumping the car fixes the problem.
Incident 1: Started the car in the morning. Drove 5 miles. Parked for 10 minutes. Started the car. Drove 2 miles. Turned off engine and fans, but left radio running for 10 minutes. Removed key. Waited 5 minutes. Put key in ignition. Dead.
Incident 2: Went to garage. Used remote to unlock all doors. Entered car. Used lock switch to lock all doors. Put key in ignition. Dead. Couldn't even unlock the doors again.
No warning lights on the dash. Shop checked the battery and said it was fine. They charged it after the first incident. About two weeks later, incident two happened.
Any advice or ideas?
Thanks.

Make sure battery is good. It may not be holding charge.
Check for current draw w/everything off. Shouldn't be more than .25 amps.
Have you replaced ignition switch? You'll find everything runs through it.
HTH.

I am having the same problem. The battery will die, I will jump it and run it for awhile to charge the battery and a day later it will be dead. I also had the battery checked since it is new and it checks fine. There must be a draw somewhere, but is there a common draw on a 92' 100? Any info and suggestions would help. My last resort is taking it to the dealer but that is soon coming.

Shop checked the battery and draw. Says everything is fine. My bet was on the ignition switch, but it seems odd that jumping the car would fix it.
Thanks.

I had similar problem several years ago. Turned out to be a defect in the door lock vacuum pumb located under rear seat. This unit also controls the interior lighing. The lights would stay on very dim such that you would not notice when the car was parked in day light. This might be your problem after all.

How did you fix this problem. I suspect that is the case with my car as well. Is it something with the pump or with the lock itself? Any further info would be appreciated.
