Default Electronic Thermoswitch (F76)

Part number (046919369)of the one removed from 1992 Audi 100 and has 4 prongs, but all that I can find has only 3 prongs. Will the 3 prongs work?

Default Here are the four prong IDs, looking at the connector...

+ - Voltage supply (lower left)

C - Coolant overheat warning symbol for Auto-Check system (lower right)

R - A/C compressor cut-off [overheat] (upper right)

T - Coolant temperature gaige control (upper left)

Not sure which prong is deleted for the 3-prong unit.
