Engine Swap

After spending loads of cash on this engine swap, I'm starting to realise I got done by the guy who sold the engine to me...
Now, I'm considering going for a 2.3 20v engine as opposed to the 2.3 10v that was in there in the first place.
What are the pros and cons? And what power hike am I getting? My 2.3 10v apparently has 133 bhp.
Ideas?
Thanks

Truth is I do all this sort of stuff myself. The only thing is you need a good workshop manual - or experience (I have both) and you need an engine crane, an assistant (wives and girlfriends are normally very compliant), and patience It took 7 days on my very first engine swap 2 years ago!
Make sure you see the engine you buy running before its taken out! Don't get stiched up like I did!
Good luck!

I've helped in 2 engine swaps, my uncle's 300se benz and my cousins bmw M3 a couple months ago. So, I've gotten my hands dirty though I confess my uncle is the "true" mechanic. My 92 100csq is in the shop with a leaking left head gasket that they are reluctant to repair because they've had bad luck re-sealing the head on these engines so they advised an engine swap with an AFC code 2.8 V6 auto without the secondary air injection off of a 95-97 A6. They've done it before so I assume it works. They also said pulling the old engine out is relatively easy because the whole front end dissambles and it pulls out instead of lifting out. So, we'll see how it goes if I ever find a suitable engine.

I hope you get lucky... the breakers yards in the UK normally have stuff, but obviously that wont do - unless you're desperate and want to import.... (yeah, I'm a brit boy!)
Anyway, still looking for advice on changing my C4 100's 2.3 10 valve for a 20 valve unit... would it slip straight in? Anything else I need to know? Obviously, I know I'd be needing the fuel distributor at least. Seems the 2.3 10v engine never hit the US in the C4s because nobody seems to know what I'm on about!

same engine as used in the '89 - '91 100 models imported in the US. But starting with the '92 100, the V6 engine was primarily used for all US 100/A6s. The S6 used a 2.22L 5-cylinder turbo engine that may essentially be the same as the 2.3L engine you have. The 20V version of the 2.3L may be a direct sway w/ the 10V, but here in the USA we really can't tell.
