Default Engine won't start.......

it worked fine a day ago, but this morning it wouldn't start. All lights come on, "OK" symbol comes up, Check engine light comes on like normal. No codes. I here the fuel pump kick on when I turn the key, but when I go to start it, just clicks once, but doesn't turn over. It makes no other noise. The starter isn't clicking like crazy or anything, and the battery is fine. It always starts right up. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Default Bad starter possibly, clicking might be the solenoid....

Try jumping it with another car just incase. If it's a manual tranny, try push starting it as well.

If you are positive that the battery is good and nothing changes when you try to jump it, pull the starter solenoid wire off the starter and check for 12v there when the key is turned to start. If you have it there as well as the big fat wire doing to the starter then your starter is bad.

Default My starter just went bad a few weeks ago.

If you can get it out, bring it to an Autozone and they will test it for you. Since you have to take the alternator out, have them check it too. Both mine ended up being bad so I had a local guy rebuild them for $130.

Any chance all the rain here in the northeast has caused some connections to get wet, or maybe the ECM? I had the tranny computer get wet before and it caused problems with the tranny.
