How difficult are these to purchase or find, and how hard is teh conversion? Is there an HID conversion kit available for this model and what other years of car headlights are compatible with this one? Thanks

you can cget the depot euro version on ebay around $150 or you can try and find 92-94 S4 headlights in either US or Euro versions, both are pricey..
you may have to cahnge your headlight plug but the liths themselves bolt right up..

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/61186/5de019f9.jpg"></center><p>there are alot of kits that will work but to go it right I would get the S4 projector headlights
and replace the projectors with HID versions from the C5 A6 or the TT
if you use the standard non projector headlight you need to get a shield for the bulb to limit the glare that it will produce because of the higher output
the shield most auto manufactures use is a dome with a cutout at the buttom where the hot spot on the bulb is similar to the one in the pic
