Default Fuel pump

Just bought a s/h 92 model 2L 100 estate. The fuel pump is VERY noisey when running. How easy is it to change. Are all pumps the same or if you get one from ebay scrap yard etc do you need to get an exact match.

Default Do not put a used fuel pump in your car. You will regret it, your car will hate you for it

and punish you by way of the fuel pump dying when it is '0' degrees outside and you are on a highway 200 miles from home. A new pump is less than $150.00 from most online shops.

Default You forgot "with a full tank" - lol

If the fuel pump dies, the tank is _always_ full to the absolute top
:-(

Default Re: Fuel pump

Try replacing the fuel filter first. I replaced mine and the pimp noise stopped. I think that a dirty fuel filter causes the pump to work harder

Exactly what I would have suggested.

You are right. Funny how it knows when to fail!
