Default FWD vs Quattro

Who has driven both FWD and AWD versions of the A6? What kind of difference did you feel in normal driving conditions?

Just curious!

Thanx

Default I've driven both FWD and quattro versions of the 100...

Both cars feel about the same for the most part. Now on ice and snow, that's a whole 'nother story FWD had torque steer I guess. To be fair I think the quattro would feel a little heavier if it weren't for the manual transmission, but it seems a bit faster than my fwd car with an auto.

Default I've had 2 FWD 95 sedans, and our Avant is quattro

The FWD's felt faster, and steered lighter. And no doubt, they are probably 500lbs lighter.

Are the FWD motors mounted transversely?

Default I had a 1992 fwd. It seemed a bit more nimble than the quattros, but as someone pointed out previou

previously, a non-q Audi is just another nice German car without a quattro soul.

Default On a normal day FWD is probably preferable

These cars don't have enough power to need AWD on dry pavement etc. If I lived in a place that was dry and so forth (SoCal etc) I'd probably prefer a FWD to the Quattro.

Default My car is a Q,and my previous FWD experiences tells me that this car is...

handles better and tracks far better than a fwd car.And since i don't want to win any stoplight races(i have my bike for that)and probably the gas mileage difference is neglegeable as well,i really don't mind driving a Q even in So.Cal.
