Default Gamma: Jammed Cassette

The patient: stock Audi Gamma cassette player in a '92 100CS.

The Symptoms: A tape is jammed in there. The cassette is stuck down, as if it were playing, but does not play. Also will not eject when radio is turned off.

Ordinarily this would seem like a great opportunity to drop in a nice new head unit. But I plan on selling the car at the end of the summer, and I use an iPod MP3 player with a tape adapter anyways.

Anyone had this happen before? Possible solutions? I have tried prying it out, to the limit i dare go to, no luck. Any help will be greatly appreciated by this audiophile.

I'd pull the head unit and start taking it apart. I've cleared 2 VCRs that way.

Happened to me. Just use a tweezer and you can
take out the casset.
