Default Guys, I'm all screwed up and confused. Is the water pump driven off the timing belt? (2.8 12v)

I was positive it was last night and then I started looking at the Bentley and some replacement water pumps. Those two sources make it look like the water pump is driven off the accessory (serpentine) belt.

I know you want to change "all that stuff" when you do the timing belt change and the water pump "going out" can leak and throw water on the timing belt tensioner, etc.

I have this really strong notion that the water pump can seize and cause the timing belt to go too.

I'm just tooo confused..I've obviously never looked at mine either.

Though, off the flat side of the belt, not the toothed side.

Thanks Muhammad. "flat side of the belt" are the magic words I needed to see.
