Default help

the previous owner of my car put the wrong powersteering fluid in the resevour, what needs to be replaced? what i am thinking is the pump, hoses, and resevour, anything else? thanks

it happened a while ago, i bought the car in march and haven't gotten around to repairing it yet, but i was told that the entire system is gone.

Default Your hoses and res should be ok.......

Probably either your pump or rack are clogged. I would remove the power steering pump and try to flush it with compressed air. Then pull the lines from the resevoir and blow compressed air through the lines at the power steering pump. It will make a bit of a mess but it will work. Do you have any fluid leaking from anywhere?

For the power steering fluid, I go straight to the dealership if I need some. There are a few places online that have the correct fluid like GPR, Rocky Mountain Motorsport, etc, etc.

Default yeah thats the problem....

there is a leak in the hose, so thats why the owner kept putting fluid in it, the wrong kind, i'll try to flush everything, thanks
