Help! Crazy high oil temp yikes

Help! Crazy high oil temp *yikes*

95' a6 with 240k, no codes
oil temp starts immediately when the car is started reads over 130F
when driving, its around 150F, goes to 160F occasionally.
Could it just be the gauge? Coolant temp is normal. The car failed emissions, high N0x, high combustion temps. Thanks!

I dont see those temps as terribly high, but you could replace the oil cooler when you do an oil change, its right there where the filter screws into...

Doesn't the gauge read 130C not 130F?

Sorry for the double post...

Should read 130C at center, then 60C at far left, and hang around 92C should it not?

both my cars have the oil cooler disabled because of radiator replacement issues with no problem. we have hot hot 105 degree days somtimes and it never goes past 100-120c. I think its an oil warmer more than anything. i wouldnt worry about oil temp. Your high nox is probably because the egr passages are clogged up and the egr system cant work to reduce NOX emmisions.
