Hesitation/Missfiring on a 100s

When my car has been sitting for a day or so and I go to drive it, especially in the morning, if I don't let the engine run for a few minutes and just go, it will have power surges in first gear at about 10-20mph, my foot will stay constant on the pedal but the engine will hesitate and feels like it will almost stall sometimes. But if I let it run idle for 5 minutes, the hesitation will be mostly gone. I this normal for a 92 100s?I know the valve lifters are self-adjusting so do they have to adjust first? Or could there just be alot of carbon buildup on the backside of the lifters? I bought it used a couple of months ago, I changed the plugs but not sure if the plug wires and coil pack have been replaced. It has 123k miles.

i had the same problem a while back. This can be fixed by changing both O2 sensors.

Oh ok. I was thinking of putting in a K&N air filter on my next oil change cause I have to replace the stock one anyway. Have you done that mod and if so did you notice any difference?

yeah i've installed the K&N filter too but didn't notice any significant difference in HP of fuel econ. but i dont need to replace it for a long while so i guess its worth the price.
