1993 100 CS. car wouldnt start for some time and finally got around to checking it out. from all indications it appeared that i had a fuel problem. researched the issue here and went through the steps to narrow the issue down. when i pulled the fuel line off of the filter i had no fuel. tried to start the car and pressurize the fuel system i got nothing. ok checked the fuse, relay and finally ended up back at the fuel tank beginning to remove the fuel pump. as i begin to remove the fuel lines i notice that i got pressure. hmmmm. so i stop make sure everything is reconnected and try and start the car. it tries to start but just wont fire, then just cranks. i go back to checking the fuel lines and i have pressure at both ends of the filter and all the way to the fuel rail. so it seems that i have fuel where i need it. let the car sit for lunch and then try to start it again. same thing, seems like it might start but wont fire and then just cranks.

i would think that, for whatever reason, the fuel systems was dry at some point. i suspect that a loose electrical connection at the tank. now that i have pressure do i need to prime the injectors? i have no clue on these things. whats next?

You could have a bad fuel pump that works occassionally. Had similar problem with a BMW Touring. The fuel pump left me stranded and I had the car towed back home. The next day it started so went to pickup some grocery. The car would not restart so I had to get it towed again (Thank God for AAA). Replaced the fuel pump and never had the problem again. I bench tested the old fuel pump and sometime it would run and some time it wouldn't.
