Default How do you know if the head gasket is leaking oil or if it is the valley pan gasket?

There is oil above and below the head gaskets. No leakage from the valve cover gaskets though.

I was assuming that the oil was from the valley pan gasket.

Could it be from the head gasket?

Default Try...

temporarily (or permanantly) moving the vac resivior so that you can get a better view...try cleaning up the leaked oil so that you can get a better view of where its coming from. you should be able to tell if its leaking from the head gasket
