I am wondering if there is anyway to get that deep exaust sound you hear on mustangs and cameros. I know its V8 vs V6 but is there anyway to try and at least imitate that sound of extreme power?

remove all hemholtz resonators ie kidney bean shaped tanks (theres 2)and replace the rear muffler (theres 1) with a magnaflow freeflow muffler. to know if you bought the right magnaflow, hold it up to the light if you can see straght through no baffels its correct. Now this set up is designed to scare people has a loud euro race car sound! on cold start up it is a little raspy but after warming up it is a low deep growl -excellent- sound like muffled small block V8 (289) only draw back is since you took out the resonators it drones on the freeway. I would recomend to replace the last muffler first with a magnaflow if this is not loud enough then remove the middle resonator. But the first resonator, the one nearest the cat should stay as its job is to break up the wave form (sound) besides resonators do not create much back pressure what they do is acoustically isolate certain frequencies ie annoying ones that cause droning on the freeway do it in stages start from the rear forward until you like the sound I did it backwards and threw away the resonators had to by them from audi $700 FV<K now i run stock with the magnaflow no droning but more civilized post if you have questions

I was going to buy a nice muffler (I guess magna flow as you recomended) and replace everything with straight pipe and a new resonator. Does this sound OK? By the way, do you know where I can find a magna flow muffler and if there is a certain size it should be? Also, what does droning mean...sorry I just never heard it before...:-)
