How hard to replace CV boot?...
I just noticed my one CV boot's torn and all the grease is all over the under side of the car. How hard is it to replace the boot? What do I need to do?

DIY,buy CV boot kit from dealer, takes 2-3 hours.
I did it myself using the instructions from the link. First time was more difficult because I did not have the proper tools.
Problems:
1. You have to unscrew the end nut (from the wheel); mine was very bigger than the instructions said, 26 or 28 mm, I had to borrow a 1" drive with socket.
2. Without a vice you cannot displace the CV from the axle. I had to go to a neighbor.
3. I did not have a cramping tool to close the collars; I had to drive to the dealer (with the boot unclamped) and a technician did it for free. You might be able to improvise, perhaps these pliers inthe link below.
Use gasoline to cleanup the old grease; dismantle the CV parts, check the integrity. If they are OK, let them dry, add the new grease and close it up.

Relatively easy job providing you have the correct ...
socket wrench to undo the out CV joint bolt and the spline headed bolts on the inner CV joint. You may have gathered fron this, I alwasy remove the driveshaft rather than try and do it on the car.
The outer CV jont bolt is tightened to about 240ft/lb's - check this because I just stand on a 15" long bar and I am about 190lb's.
It also helps if you have a good engineering vice to hold the shaft in when you 'drift' the joint off the end. Use a good parallel punch on a flat area of the centre of the joint. Do not hit the outer part or let tyhe joint twist too far beacuse the ***** will drop out and it take you a hour to get them back in.
