my engine light came on on the way to work this AM for all of 7 minutes. It's done this before. If I follow the steps to pull the codes is this going to tell me anything because it comes on and then goes off? It does this probably once every month or so, if that.
edit: and where was that one with the nice picture of the plugs, oh and the acronym for "check engine light" here is? (I'm going to kick myself when I see it)

until they're actively cleared by a human using VAGCOM or equivalent. So, yes, the codes will tell you something.
FLAPS will read your codes for free for you.
