Default idling problems ...

my car wont idle when its cold.It dies immediately if i step of the gas pedal, and after driving till its warmed up it idles extremely high (3000 RPM).
I'v checked all vacuum pipes to begin with ..
What else could be the cause of this ?

Default Idle Control Valve

If there are no leaks on any hoses then the Idle Control Valve is not working properly. Maybe it needs to be replaced.

Default for anyone who has cleaned their valve ? I have a question

normaly on idle valves when I remove them (Saab/ BMW)to clean them I can move the inner valve with a screwdriver or something, my audi is frozen solid and can't be moved, can someone confirm that you should or shouldn't be able to move the valve manually?????

Default valve stuck closed or open?

either way you shouldn't use a screwdriver... if it doesn't move by touch then its not good
