I'm in a tight bind.

I cleaned my EGR passage way, no big deal, tested my EGR Valve at idle, idle speed drops and car runs rough, man I said to myself, "It can't be this easy." Took the car for a spin, no engine light on! Than I took the 94 100s to the emissions check place, It failed worse after I cleaned the passage. I went back and replaced all the vaccum lines, and went as far as replacing the O2 sensors. The passenger side in and out great, now the driver side: I busted my knuckles soo freaking hard taking it out and the threads are toast! This car has 153k miles, and I think these were original o2 sensors. Now I have to figure someway of tapping the threads on the downpipe. Any suggestions? I ran out of tools to throw!

I just let the TB hang while I snaked out the EGR Passage. The car runs perfect, no complaints, it supposed to run rough at idle when you suck the EGR valve open and it vents the inert exhaust gas back into the IM just downstream of the TB. The vaccum lines where in poor condition especially the one that connects to the bottom of the TB. I cleaned the butterfly valves and the venturi on the TB. Everything went perfect, but the stupid emissions test that I scored worse on. I am just having a terrible time finding a tap big enough for the O2 sensor hole on the downpipe. Me sad and want to cry!

How are your welding techniques. I did weld one of these to a friends BMW 325.
It worked great here is the link<ul><li><a href="http://www.techtonicstuning.com/viewpart.asp?partnum=253.000">http://www.techtonicstuning.com/viewpart.asp?partnum=253.000</a</li></ul>

Ask the smog tech where your car failed, this will give you a good idea of the area of the engine you need to work on rather than blindly throwing parts at it.

No I never cleaned the horizontal passage but I did clean the orifice to the TB.
But I fixed my little mess up with the O2 sensor, I could not find a 18mm by 1.5 threads for the life of me, so I went to my friends fathers house who has a machine shop, and he made me a tap that accepts a 5/8 socket from tooling steel and we heat treated. So if anyone needs the tap, let me know!
Also put car back together w/ o2 sensors, It got worse!! I spent over $300 bucks, so I can get a waiver. I had it!
