key won't come out of IGN???
ok, new problem on my 92 100, now the key will not come out of the ign. when it is in park, it will only come out in N.?? I assume their is a switch in the shifter that allows the key to be turned all the way to the left to remove the key, once in N, I can turn it just a hair more to remove the key? any sugestions?

KEY will come out only if not in park?????
the key will come ot in every gear except park? and the steering lock does not work, i can turn the wheel and it will not lock the steering? ANy thoughts or sugestions??

did you replace the ignition key lately?
there is a cable from the transmission shifter to the key which won't allow the key to be turned all the way off unless it is in park. when you change the ignition switch, that cable has to be bend a little to allow the switch to be replaces. when putting the cable back on the cable might be a alittle bent and often does not allow it to retract fully. next time key is stuck, move the gearshift out/in of park several times. see if the key then comees out.

never replaced anything
I have dome nothing to this, the key will come out in all gears except park, you have to shut the car off in park, then move the key to position 2 then change to any gear and turn key off again and key comes out then you put the car in park???????????

still has to be the cable from shift to ignition lock
even though it wasn't disturbed by replacing the ignition or something, it still has to be cable. it pulls a little pawl that rotates out of the way when it is in park and lets the key go all the way off. i had this problem but for me it was because i changed the ignition switch and kinked the cable. same exact situation as what you are experiencing.

is the adjustment done down at the shifter or at the switch end? any info would be helpfull before i tear into it.

Re: thanks, found it, another easy fix.....
Ok the adjustment is on the shifter, yep, the bolt had come loose, it took longer to find my 10mm wrench then to fix the problem, thanks again guys.
