While I can hardly stand the base C5 A6 (4.2 is pretty nice with the fenders, etc), I do like what they've done with the A4... there were plenty of people who didn't like the new 100 in 1991.

Boy, I miss Motorweek. We don't have it in St. Louis. I can't wait to drive the CVT. That will be coming out in the A6 right?

They said they were both disappointed with the CVT because Audi added a pause before it engages for US bound cars. Seems the reason is to better emulate the reaction of an automatic, and prevent consumer complaints.

Besides that, they said it was pretty cool, but they did not look forward to working on them.

It's not yet finalised yet but according to certain Euro car mags the next S4 is either a 2 or 5 door coupe based on the new A4 with a Audi developed V8 kicking out 340 Bhp! In his final years as VW group chairman Ferdinand Piech (spelling) is reported as saying Audi is lacking in the technical guidance to develop their own range of engines, Audi countered with a new compact smaller V8 against VWs existing W8s!!
