Default Lower control arms

Got some groaning and crunching coming from lower bushing. Debating replacing the bushing (have it pressed in to existing arms) or replacing the whole arm. I can get bushing and sway bar bushings for abou $25 bucks and the whole arm is about $120. There are lots (195K) of miles on the car 92 100 CS and I wonder about the ball joints. there is no play but still I hate to do the job, only to find out the ball is bad. Actually, I hate to even take the thing off without having a new arm ready just in case.

Anyone pull off the arm lately? Is is litkey the ball joint is worn?

Default You can check by using a lever to see if you can detect any play....

in the BJ. You have to jack up the car then leve down on the TCA so that it pulls against the hub whihc is help up by the strut. You are levering against the force applied by the anti-roll bar so if you jack up bothe front wheels off the ground then it may be easier to detect any movement.
