I cant decide if i want to lower my car, or invest that money into a stereo system, but i was talking to my mechanic who told me not to lower my car, because the ride quality greatly decreases, he said if i need new suspension just to get regular bilsteins shocks, but not the sport ones or springs, for all you that have lowered them has the ride quality gone to ****, or is it still pretty smooth? thanks
ps i was planning on getting bilstein shocks, and hr springs if i lowered it

Lowering will greatly hardent he ride.. i would say if you want confort and handling.. go with stock springs and Bilstein sport shocks.. i would prefer dumping money into the suspension AND stereo.. but what can ya do.. i could live without the springs but not the stereo... just a bit of opinion...

I made jokes of people, who lovered cars for long time, then somebody got a sea sick on the back seat om my car and I wanted a firmer suspention. Basically I wanted something within S6 specks (30% firmer, 30% more dumping). So the lovering part was a bonus.
Now the PROS are:
I really like the handling improovements. I do not see big issues with the ride quality. Actually I like firmer ride. It does not dive during braking and does not roll as match during cornering. Again it is pretty match S6 spec and S6 drives fine.
It looks match better.
CONs:
- no way I can put the front bumper over the curb (well, before I could do it, but risked to torn the bumper).
- with the handling improvement you feel need for more power, braking, tires, sway bars, flared fenders, naked girls sitting on the hood (ok, forget girls, give more tires).
- all ricers, who ignored you before start show you some secret handshakes.
In any case: it would cost ~$900 for parts, $300 to install and ~$150 to realign, but IMHO these is way better to spend money, than upgraded sound system. of cause I did not upgrade the sound system, so who am I to be asked...

I did the stereo upgrade when I first got my car almost two years ago so it wasn't an issue at the time. The ride will definetly decrease in comfort, but the handling improves a ton. Steering is tighter and the car hardly dives during brakeing. Plus it looks SO MUCH BETTER WHEN IT IS LOWERED! (sorry this is a bad angle, it is the only picture I had on my picture poster)
