Default My '91 100 is dead

I just towed my son home, because the car had died on him. I checked the gas, and it had a little in it, so I filled it with gas (it died on him at a gas station), and tried cranking it. It did start, but ran horribly. The whole time, the alarm kept going off, and coming back on. Finally the car died, so and acted like the battery was dead. I jumped started the car, but, again, it ran horribly. I drove toward home, until it finally died. Hooked a tow rope to it, and pulled it home.

As I was driving home, I kept looking at the voltometer, and it would come up to 9 volts, then drop to nothing, both while driving and while being pulled. I replaced the alternator a little over a year ago.

Any suggestions?

Was it running fine before and then all of a sudden it died, or was it a slow decent?

Drove the car this morning, and was going just fine. I have posted about the bouncing speedo, but that has been a little annoyance we have put with for a while now.

Son drove it, and that is when it died.
