Default My Alarm System/Battery

For some reason whenever I lock my car, about 20-30 minutes after, my car alarm starts going off. This is the first Audi I have ever owned so I don't know anything about them. Is there some sort of setting to make it less sensitive, or a way to disable it? I tried to disconnect the battery when it was going off late last night but I couldn't find the battery. All I could find is the positive terminal but couldn't get the cable unhooked. The only way to be sure that the alarm will not go off, is if I leave my car unlocked! If anyone has any suggestions it would be much appreciated. Also, the car did NOT come with a manual so I'm up **** creek. I have one ordered but it won't be here for a week or two and I would really like to lock my car up at night. THANKS!

Default Battery is under rear bench seat. Do you have a 100S or a A6? The earlier C4s used an infrared...

locking (IF) system. The later C4s (starting ~'95 model year) uses a radio frequency (RF) locking system.
