My car was towed by NYPD. I worry about the central diff function.
I suspect, that they towed it by two wheels for one mile. When I picked up the car I careffully listened to the transmission sound and did not notice any issues in sound or performance. Is it Ok?
Technicaly there is a lot of AWD/4WD cars on the streets these days so NYPD should have experiance in towing it without damaging. What do you think?

Bummer. Without the key, the rear wheels of a AWD vehicle would have to be placed on dolley...
or a flat bed to tow. So, they probably didn't do any damage.

Lucky for you no damage.
My A6Qa was towed over the summer - they punctured the oil pan. Also, did you ever notice that they open the doors sometimes and the alarm does not go off? WTF are they doing? Don't trust them for a second - they jimmy the lock and then put the car in neutral.
Bastards.
At least they were relatively prompt in paying my damage claim - only after they offered $60 less than I paid to my mechanic!
