Default New clutch starting to grab high.

Just had the clutch on my 95 a6q done and have a few questions. When I got the car back from the shop, I nearly stalled every time I took off from a stop(clutch grabbed realy low) After 1K miles, Its grabing high(but not slipping) Is this normal once the clutch is broken in? FWY its an o.e sach clutch kit and I didnt have the flywheel resurfaced. thanks. Al

Default Sounds fairly normal to me. It could be there was a small amount of air in the ....

slave cylinder when first driven, but this would be expelled very soon, almost with the first couple of operations of the clutch.

The new drive plate will bed in and will engage higher up than a worn plate.

Default I believe mine is the original clutch, and it grabs rather high too.

I've had both my master and slave cylinders replaced as well as the clutch bled multiple times, however it has always come back with the pedal grabbing rather high. I have never had mine be any other way; so, I would say it sounds normal by comparison. Nice to see another A6 5spd here, not too many around here these days ;-)
