New Code: P1528 Intake Camshaft Contr.Circ. Bank1 Open

Could this be causing my rough idle and overall lack of acceleration?

Any thoughts on how I should start trouble-shooting?

Any help is greatly appreciated...

SAE P1528 code = VAG DTC 17936. What year is your C4?

Update: My mechanic is an idiot...

After not being able to solve the problem via the blink codes, I took my '95 A6 to the local "Foreign Car Experts" shop to read the VAG-COM codes. They told me that it threw a P1528 and two O2 sensor codes (already knew about those). After researching the P1528, I took it back to the shop to have it read again. This time it showed P0526. The moron didn't hit the break pedal before he read the codes.

Time for a new mechanic.

My new VAG-COM keyed interface is on the way.
