Default New problem in Bose speakers

My driver's side rear speakers started making a cracking noise (like static noise on a radio station). Only the rear speakers (one on door-panel and the one behind the seat) are making the noise. Of course, the noise goes away if I switch off the stereo.

Any ideas on what could be wrong? Has the headunit gone bad, or is it the connections / speakers?

Thanks!
Manu

Default You could have tosted the BOSE amp in the trunk.`

This amp located in the left rear of the trunk, hangs from the top. This controls the speakers in the rear doors and the ones behind the rear seat. There are 5 wires that go to it. The two black ones are ground, the two smaller connections connect to the right and left side speakers and the big harness in the middle is all the power and inputs. To test if just the left channel is blown i would switch the right and left harnessed to see if the noice moved over tyhe the other side. If it does you needa new amp. Unfortunatley i just sold my last one, but im sure someone here has an extra!

Default I am having similar problem

i am also having similar problem with my Bose. IT all started from my driver side door speaker started giving me that sneaky sound. i disconnected speaker from amplifier..so it doesn't give any sound now.. but. my Fading doesn't stop sound from rear speakers.. and one funny thing is when it rains ..(not always but some times)..when ever i switch my stereo my rear speaker gives a very loud sound..it's like alarm sound..it takes some time..after running for while it will come back.. I don't what 's wrong with this.. i don't what is problem.. Atleast i want to get it repaired the front amplifier..

The electrolytic caps in the Bose amps go bad, replace them.

Default I opened up the amp

I think the big capacitors (820 microF, 16V) need to be changed. Right ARK?

I don't know how to test the capacitors, to figure out which ones are bad -- Anybody?

Thanks
Manu
