Default Oh the humanity, T-boned today..........

What's your opinion, you think my insurance company is going to total my 97 Quattro? I was traveling around 45-50 thru an intersection when a caravan decided to pull thru... Spun me around 360 and I missed all the other cars. Center pillar has some distortion.

Figures, I've dumped about $3,000 grand in it the last few months bringing all the maint. up to date...... But I'm thankful my son wasn't in his usual spot in the right rear!

Fight with the receipts for $3K expenses otherwise the insurance pays you only the Blue Book value.

Default Insurance will total :-( They are afraid of suspension damage.

I hate to be negative, but I fear the worst. Buy it back and part it out, or fight like a tiger to get them to fix it.

Why fight to have it fixed? Late model A6s are easy to find...

Default True. If the check from the ins co is large enough, just replace it.

Maybe make a buck or two. I was factoring the emotional attachment.

Default Thanks everyone for the advice and kind words..

I've had this car for exactly one year. I paid $7 grand for it with 107,000 miles on it. I bought it for an extra winter vehicle and decided this year to use it full time and sell the Saab. Now it has 129,000 miles on it and I've almost repaired all the usually quirks on these things. Although, this has been the first car in a long time that I've wanted to keep past a year......

I'm not sure I'd want to pick another one up, I may not have a car payment, but the amount of money I've put in this baby would have covered a pretty decent car payment! LOL

I'll find out on Monday if it's repairable, but if not, I know how to deal with the insurance guys. Thankfully, my insurance agents are my parents who own the local agency.... :-)

Take care and I'll give an update on Monday
