I put in a new filter in my gearbox and I think It didn't come with the seal at the top hole that seals to the transmission. I have my old one now in my hand, should I drain the gearbox again check it, maby it did or did not have the seal. And then put in new oil, or what should I do? The gears do shift smoother and first start in the morning reverse is also wayyy better
Getting my tranny mountings today or tomorrow. Mabt my car will switch the gears even more soft.

and, yes, it is strange that the seal usually needs to be ordered separately from the filter

along with the tranny mounts and handbrake tensioner. I just took the car out for a drive, smoother shifts but as I stopped at a four way stop, nothing, it was like the car was in neutral, happened again as I lifted my foot off the gas and went around a bend at 30kph had to stop go to park and again in drive. Weird thing is I had to put in more oil now than last time to get it between the marks on the dipstick. I checked it again now and it was fine, maby I should check it again in a while.
Or maby now that the mounts has been fixed it is out of line with the cable that puts the car in gear??? I don't know and now I am quite scared.......
Did I do something wrong?

did you follow the right procedure? Car must be level and note the part about shifting into each gear for at least 3 seconds.
********************************************
Using funnel, add approx. 2.7 liters of ATF.
Start engine, depress brake pedal and shift through all selector lever positions (P, R, N, D, 3, 2, 1) at idle (each position must remain selected for 2-3 seconds).
Let engine idle in selector lever position "P" with parking brake applied.
Measure ATF level using ATF dipstick.
To wipe off ATF dipstick, use cloth that does not leave lint.
When cold, ATF level should be filled to 20 ° C marking.
Let engine continue to idle.
Then check ATF level ATF Level, Checking .

Car didn't do it again, I hope it doesn't happen again, it is scary when it does happen. I am really surprised at what difference the new mountings does to the car's drive quality overall.
